Nano PLC
The VersaMax Nano PLC meets high-volume application needs where cost, space, and fast processor speeds are all issues. The low-cost Nano PLC provides more capabilities in a smaller, less expensive, and reliable package, so you save on both initial costs and life-cycle costs. The VersaMax Nano is now available with one analog input channel for greater flexibility.

Micro PLC
The Micro PLC is big on features. There are three controller types, 14 point with discrete I/O, 23 point with discrete and analog I/O and a 28 point with discrete I/O. All units are expandable up to 140 I/O. Expansion options include 14 point and 28 point discrete models and 4 channel analog inputs and 2 channel analog outputs models. The controllers provide fast cycle times, robust instruction set, and generous memory to allow more flexible programming. And it's all packaged in a sturdy modular design for easy access and long-term durability.

Communications Options
Each unit (the Nano and the Micro) has an RS-232 port that can be used for SNP Slave, Modus RTU Slave, or Serial In/Out commands. The second port on the 23 point and the 28 point Micro is an RS-485 port that supports SNP Slave, SNP Master, Modbus RTU Slave and Serial In/Out commands. Modems can be attached to either port and provide constant connectivity using pagers, intelligent scales, bar code readers, and printers.

Motion Options
The VersaMax Micro and Nano products are suited for both PWM and Pulse Train devices. There are up to four PWM/Pulse Train outputs available. Both PLCs are equipped with built-in high-speed counters that can be used in either type A (Up or Down, Independent Pulse), or type B (Both Directions, A QUAD B Encoder Inputs) configurations.

VersaMax

The VersaMax solution is a single control product that may be used as Remote I/O, as a PLC, and/or as distributed control for up to 256 I/O points. With its modular and scaleable architecture, intuitive features and ease of use, it saves initial costs for machine builders and life-cycle costs for end users. VersaMax provides reliability and increased uptime because of its Six Sigma design, intuitive diagnostics, and hot I/O module insertion. Its broad family offers 34 different I/O modules, powerful PLC CPU, open networking, and multiple wiring options. Its combination of feature-rich I/O and powerful CPU provides the performance to meet any industry needs.

The VersaMax's powerful processor with 12K of memory for application programs, floating point math, real-time clock, subroutines, PID, Flash memory, and bumpless run mode provides a powerhouse of versatility in a small package. It includes automatic I/O addressing - extensive diagnostics with an internal fault table and LEDs that indicate system faults and I/O forces - freeing up the operator to concentrate on maintaining the highest quality.

Network Communication Modules allow the VersaMax Controller to reside on several industry-standard networks. The Profibus version of the NCM allows VersaMax to be a slave on a Profibus-DP network. The Profibus NCM supports high-speed data rates - up to 12Mbits/second. The DeviceNet version of the NCM provides both Master and Slave capability and provides a low-cost communications link to industrial devices using CANbus technology. The AS-Interface NCM is a Master module providing connectivity to low-level sensor and actuator slave devices.

The Network Units interface to the Genius Network, the Profibus Network, the DeviceNet Network, and the Ethernet Network. These NIUs provide you with the network connection that you need for your high-speed factory-floor communications providing remote I/O to any application.

Series 90-30 PLC's

For entry-level applications with low I/O counts, the CPU is embedded into the backplane allowing all slots available for I/O. These models are compatible with advanced modules such as Ethernet, the various bus modules, control. Mid-range CPU models are modular and come in various memory sizes, performance capability and increased functionality such as overrides, battery-backed clock, and Programmable Coprocessor module support. The high-performance CPUs are based on the Intel 386EX processor for fast computation and high throughput. They can handle up to 4,096 I/O and start at 32K of memory and are programmable in a number of standard languages.

The new CPU374 is the latest high performance CPU from GE Fanuc. With its superior speed and performance, the CPU374 is truly in a class by itself. The CPU374 has an AMDSC520 processor running at 133 Megahertz. In addition to high speed processing, the Series 90-30 CPU374 features a built-in Ethernet switch with two 10/100Mbit ports (RJ-45). The CPU374 built-in Ethernet supports one IP address. The CPU374 Ethernet ports are auto-sensing for data rate, duplicity, and cable crossover.

The CPU374 supports SRTP server and Ethernet Global Data (EGD) protocol. The CPU374 is compatible with the EZ Program Store device that enables users to download program and configuration without a computer.

The CPU374 has a Boolean execution of 0.15 milliseconds per K, has 240Kbytes of configurable memory and is programmed in RLD, C or State Logic®. Up to 4096 I/O, remote and local, are supported by the CPU374.

I/O Modules
A genuine distinction of the Series 90-30 is in its I/O. There are over 38 different discrete I/O types and 17 analog I/O types, including: high-speed counters, I/O processors, programmable coprocessors, temperature controls, servo motion controllers, and PC coprocessors.

Specialty Modules
Specialty modules include thermocouples, RTD, millivolt/strain gauge, sequence of event recorders, isolated analog, modem modules, and a pneumatic valve output module.
